Trash it! | Cobourg Wedding Photographer

I love Trash sessions. They are so much fun, so relaxed, and you can be creative with it. You don’t have to worry about the dress getting dirty, so the bride just hikes it up and goes whereever the spots are that will give that “wow” factor to the photos. Jannette and Malcolm got married in the fall, and their reception is going to be next month, and since they didn’t do wedding photos, they decided now was a good time to do some! I can’t share many since Jannette wants most of them to be a surprise, but I am allowed to share ones with just her in them. And I have to say, it’s awesome when a bride just relaxes and has fun and tries different things. Janette knew her angles and every few seconds would switch it up a bit without me needing to say anything. I like to tell my soon to be brides, stand in front of the mirror and practice, it never hurts!

Jesse and Laura-Ashleigh get Hitched | Cobourg Photographer

On Saturday my brother-in-law got married. I was a bit worried with the weather not cooperating since Thursday and Friday were not nice, but Saturday turned out to be pretty descent weather for a March Wedding! We were even able to go outside (and run back in to get warmed up).  Jesse and Laura are a little bit country, so there were splashes here and there to show that. Three of my children were in the wedding (and I have to say, they did extremely well walking and behaving!) so I made sure to include a couple of them as well. Now that the wedding stress is over, they can get on and enjoy married life!

Just the Girls | Cobourg Photographer

Finishing up Elaine’s photos, and thought I’d post a couple of her and her girls.  We did one serious photo (like they did in the old in days) just for the fun of it. Can you imagine if this is how you had to do your wedding photos so that the camera could capture the image properly? yikes!

Luckily, we can now have fun and not worry about not smiling and staying still!

Elaine and Matt get Married | Cobourg Photographer

Last Saturday was the last wedding of the season for me, and it was a great one! I am going to do a bit of a post overload since it’s my last wedding (the guys probably deserve a post of their own for all the jumping around and funny posing they were doing, but I’m just gonna do it all at once) so hope you don’t mind!

It was a beautiful day, no rain, a bit of a breeze, and Elaine was stunningly beautiful inside and out. You could tell from the very beginning of the day that family meant so much to both the grooms side and brides side, which always sets a great mood for the day. Elaine is probably the most organized bride I have ever dealt with. She had me go to take photos of the guys at 11 first, and honestly, I was so surprised when I walked in and they were all standing waiting and ready. They even undressed for me so that I could get photos of them “getting read”! Then we headed outside and although it took them a bit to get warmed up (except for Brock and Pete and Jeff) they were game for whatever.

Then when I arrived at Elaine’s house, all of the girls were ready, in their dresses and Elaine was ready to jump into hers as soon as I said so…wow, that hardly ever happens for me! But it was great cause we were able to spend so much time on photos, and not be rushed at all! And I have to say, I got a chuckle when I saw the programs and the favors, because normally it is the grooms name first, but not for this wedding, it was Elaine and Matt’s Wedding :) I think Matt is just so easy going, and Elaine is a born leader, so they fit very well together.

I have to admit, when I was packing it up and leaving at 11pm, I was tired, and my feet hurt. But it was so much fun watching everyone dance and see how close the families were. Congrats Elaine and Matt, and thanks for letting me be part of your day!

David and Rosie get Married | Cobourg Photographer

It started 15 years ago on the steps of the West Highschool…David and Rosie met in highschool, and have now become husband and wife. The rain held off for the ceremony, and then it poured, but by the time we got into town for photos, it held off for a little bit. Rosie looked beautiful and David was as handsome as ever. Congrats you two!

Jason and Linda get married | Cobourg Photographer

Jason and Linda had a nice evening wedding.  They kept their wedding party small and intimate and as well as the ceremony. I had a lot of fun with the two of them, very easy going and happy to do whatever (like Linda climbing a fence with her dress on). Because the wedding was in the evening, we did not have a lot of light after the ceremony, so we ended up going to the studio to finish up some more photos (first time doing that with a bride and groom!). Here are a few…

Chris and Rachel | Cobourg Photographer

I got to go for a nice walk yesterday in the woods with Chris and Rachel. There wedding is approaching, so we needed to get their engagement photos done. I always like to do the engagement shoot, because it let’s me see how my bride and groom are going to photograph on their wedding day. Whether they are comfortable infront of the camera, whether they need to warm up, if they are blinkers, etc. Chris and Rachel are going to be lots of fun. It’s nice when the guy is comfortable in front of the camera and doesn’t care what you want him to do. And Rachel, well I’ve known her since highschool, and I’ve always said she is one of the funniest people I know….their dog Sampson also got in some photos.
