Another newborn in the studio! They just keep on coming! I tell you, everyone had the Holiday Cheer last year
Harper was 10 days late to begin with, and was 2 weeks when she came to the studio, so was not as sleepy as I like, but that seems to be the usual lately! The newborns just seem to want to be awake when they visit me, and well, that just means I get extra cuddles. Here is a sneak peek!

Hugs and Kisses | Cobourg Newborn Photographer
Ok, these twins just left (literally, mommy and daddy are still loading them up in the car infront of the studio) but I had to post this photo of them (there will be more, but they will be posted in order, after my other sessions still needing to be posted). Alexandria and Brayden were born at 32 weeks, weighing just over 3 pounds. Tomorrow is actually their due date. For premies, they were a bit more active then I had thought today….they didn’t want to touch each other much, but with lots of patience we got some adorable photos. My sister made these hats for this session (she’s on facebook, Happie Cappies by Erica) and I was so excited to get this shot to work. I won’t lie, twins hold a very special spot in my heart, and even though these two cried a good amount, I had so much fun with them and can’t wait for them to come back three more times this year!
Lyla. | Cobourg Newborn Photographer
I’m very sad that Lyla’s birth photography slideshow is not working, but her mom is anxious to see some photos, so it will have to get a post all of its own once it is working. Lyla was not my typical fiesty little girl. She slept pretty good, would open her eyes here and there and then close them up for awhile. Her big brother has been coming to the studio since he was three months, and I had forgotten that he didn’t come as a newborn, so I didn’t explain as much during this session. Then after some comments about how neat it was the different ways I could pose her hands and feet and hands, I realized that Keith and Holly hadn’t seen this before! Oops! I love her hair, and I think she looks just like mommy. That’s what her daddy thinks too. I’m excited to watch her grow….(the bunny shot is one of my favorites right now!)
Faith. | Cobourg Photographer
When I was in the hospital doing a birth photography, Faith was also in there with her mommy and daddy. She’s just a little tiny thing. I think she’s a pretty good mixture between her the two of them, and for a tiny little girl, she was pretty good for me. Usually they are the fiesty ones that fight their sleep, but Faith was so good for me! Thanks Dustin and Sherry for bringing in your newest, lovely addition! I am in newborn heaven right now!

I was at the hospital the night Shannon went into labor, and the look on her face as her and Phil walked down the hall brought back memories! We all thought this little one was going to be a boy, but she surprised us! That’s ok, I’m sure they have pink john deer things out there Phil! Here are a few sneak peaks. She didn’t want to sleep too much for us, and when she was awake, she had quite the different expressions going on!
owen | cobourg newborn photographer
Owen’s mommy was ready to get him in as soon as possible. But then she went overdue, and I went to Punta Cana to photograph a wedding. So as soon as I got back we got him into the studio at two weeks old. He didn’t want his hands anywhere but at his face, and would protest whenever I tried to move them. He was a bit stubborn, but I am more stubborn
It was so nice watching mommy and daddy with him, he is a very loved baby. Thank you Adam and Amy for letting me capture his newborn stage for you!

Elijah Minifie | Cobourg Newborn Photographer
I have to say, one of my favorite names! When his mom brought him and and said he was two weeks old, I figured he was going to make me work hard. However, within a few minutes of working with him, I knew he didn’t feel two weeks old so I asked when her due date was and found out he’s actually not supposed to be born for another week. Premie’s are wonderful, they sleep very well. He was a dream to work with and such a beautiful baby! Daddy was very proud, almost drank some pee when Elijah decided to let loose, and mommy and grandma oohed and ahhed the entire time. This little one is loved by many! Here are a few teasers….
Merridy | Cobourg Newborn Photographer
Have I ever told you that I ADORE newborns? Probably my favorite subject to photograph. Merridy was one week old when she came into the studio (same day as Mathea) and she was a dream. If she stirred a bit, mommy would give her a quick top up, and off to sleep she would go. She let me move her and fold her and squish her and I didn’t hear a peep. And we found that purple looked great with her complexion! In case you didn’t know, I LOVE NEWBORNS!
3 days new | Cobourg Newborn Photographer
Mathea came into the studio just 3 days after being born, and she held true to the newborn little girls I get….fiesty. For three days, she fought her sleep for a very long time, but once I got her out, she let me do quite a bit to her with no complaints. It is so awesome when parents bring them in when they are still in that true newborn stage, you can really squish them without them caring. And I always say to the mom, I have a couch for you to sit and relax on (most dads take a nap on it while I’m shooting just the baby) so come in sooner than later!
Daddy is a fireman so we made sure to incorporate something with that. And isn’t it such a beautiful family? Mommy looked amazing for three days post delivery, I have to say! Thanks so much Post Family for letting me capture the first precious days of Mathea!
Leif | Cobourg Newborn Photographer
Every now and then it’s nice to change it up and try something different. So we took it outside with Leif. I was a bit worried because he’s 5 weeks old and they normally don’t cooperate with the newborn stuff and it wasn’t as warm as I was hoping. But we got to our spot, and had a ton of patience….he made sure to let us know we were on his time. He refused to let me put his hands together, he kept pulling them apart, so I got smart and worked with how he wanted them. Then once we got him settled in enough, I got ready, mommy took off the blanket and yanked the soother and I shot away until he would decide he wanted a different position. And he is one strong boy, could fully hold his head up and turn it the other direction no problem. I really enjoyed this session and the different feel it gives. It would be nice to incorporate some of these this summer when it gets nice and hot!
Jessica, thanks for letting me play with Leif and experiment and being a calm mom….and for letting me cuddle him at the end there.
