I am really enjoying newborns. They are just so fresh and new. Ryan was so good for me, there really wasn’t much fighting at all. He came in awake, mommy fed him, he went to sleep, and I molded. The boys just seem to behave better for me…and look at all that hair! I found it hard to put hats on him, because of all that hair…

baby as artwork | cobourg photographer
I love to be able to use newborn babies as a form as artwork. I believe that your children should cover your walls, they are the most sentimental and precious to you, so why not put them on display. Since I have had children, I have eventually removed my store bought art work and paintings from my walls to replace them with canvas prints or enlargements of my kids, and I smile every time I look at them. So if you are interested in blowing up a print from your session, make sure to mention this, and if you know what room you would like it in, we could always figure out a way to make the photo compliment the room and decoration.
big sister | cobourg photographer
I love to put the big sisters/brothers in some shots with their newest addition to the family. Elliana hadn’t really held Adelyn yet, so she was excited to do so. She was so good with her, even when Adelyn decided to grab her nose a few times. I think that mommy is going to have her hands full now with Elliana wanting to hold Adelyn! I think this little series is adorable!

The newest addition to the family. She’s all the way from London (Ontario) for a visit. Just like her sister two years ago, she was a bit harder to work with. Didn’t want to fall asleep, didn’t want to stay asleep for too long, but I still won, like I always do! Those chubby little cheeks looked so cute with the hats, and I was surprised when I took off her diaper and saw the freckle on her tailbone! So cute!

My biggest fighter yet. Isaac is two weeks old, and his parents say that this was the fussiest he’s ever been, he normally sleeps most of the day. It’s my fault, I recently was telling somebody that my boys are usually really good, it’s the little girls that give me the fight. The first hour was spent feeding and soothing and waiting. Then when I finally got him asleep, he lasted for about 10 minutes and was awake again. So probably another hour or so went by to try to get him back asleep….however, even though he fought me, we still got some really cute ones. And would you look at that hair!?! Isn’t it to die for!? I am in LOVE with it… Isaac is a Bebe Collection, so he will be coming back from Ottawa in a few months, can’t wait to see how much his hair has grown…
1 week new | cobourg photographer
emily just left the studio, and today she is 1 week. actually, she isn’t even supposed to be born yet, not for another week. and for being early, she is feisty and alert. it always seems like the little girls give me the most fight. but once i got her sleeping, she let me move her around pretty good. the last photo i laughed at. she woke up when we were going to do some hand shots, and decided to grab her daddy’s nose.

I came in to do some work today, and since Nathan was in town doing a course, he stopped in so I could do some photos with him and Kaleb. I think we got some cute ones, and I’m even posting one of myself (although I didn’t plan on taking any with me, so have no make up on…but bear with me!) however, I’m hoping my friend Tina will be coming up to take some more photos of me and Kaleb and maybe the family. Just thought I’d share…

He is a week old today, and this is his second photo shoot. I will be doing another one later on in the week of him and his daddy, so keep watching for more photos! I can’t believe that a week has already gone by, it makes me want to just stop the clock and savor every moment I have with my children. Time passes too quickly.
Normally I dread photographing my own children, since anyone who knows them, know they only stay still for 5 seconds before they are gone again. Well, Kaleb has just been wonderful in the studio, one of my best newborns! Sleeps the whole time, no fuss. I’m sure that will change very soon though.
Elijah has been wonderful, like I knew he would. The girls have graduated to his ‘big babes’ and Kaleb is now his ‘little babe’. He tells me continually throughout the day, ‘mom, I love my big babes and I love my little babe’. He loves to hold him and kiss him, and he makes sure the girls are gentle with him. They like to pat his head, Gracie likes to pull his hair sometimes though. But they have all done very well with him. I can’t stop smiling looking at all four of my children. I am so blessed to have them. They make my heart swell will love every day. I know that it is going to be very busy now, although it was before hand! But at least it will all be worth it.
My husband turns to me last night and says, “you know, if you take the first letter of the children’s name, it spells ‘geek’, that’s kind of funny”. Of course, that’s what he comes up with!
this is the first photo I took. Elijah saw me setting up so laid down for me….love it!
wait until you see the bloopers from this set-up!
